The Problem We Started With
If you're into cars, you already know the frustration. A buddy mentions a show happening "this weekend, I think," someone posts a blurry flyer in a Facebook group with no address, and by the time you piece together the actual date, time, and location, the show's already over — or you show up a week late.
Car show information has always been scattered: club Facebook pages, regional forums, word of mouth, the occasional flyer taped to a gas station door. There was no single place to actually see what's happening near you on a map, with real dates and addresses you can trust.
So we built one.
What TheCarShowsApp Actually Does
At its core, TheCarShowsApp pulls together car show, cruise night, and car meet listings from across the country and puts them on a single map. You can search by city, filter by category — Cars & Coffee, Cruise-Ins, Swap Meets, Race Events, and more — and see exactly what's happening near you without digging through ten different Facebook groups.
We combine two sources of data:
- Automated discovery — our system continuously scans event listings, regional car club calendars, and public event pages to find shows happening across the country.
- Direct submissions — organizers and attendees can submit shows directly, often with a flyer upload that we parse automatically to pull out the date, time, and location.
Every event that comes through automated discovery gets reviewed before it goes live. We'd rather have fewer, accurate listings than a flood of stale or wrong information.
Why It's Free
Finding a car show shouldn't cost anything, and listing one shouldn't either. TheCarShowsApp is free to use for browsing and free for organizers to list their events. We support the project through optional Featured Event boosts for organizers who want extra visibility, and through advertising — never through paywalling basic access to event info.
What's Next
We're actively expanding coverage state by state, adding more regional data sources, and building out features organizers and attendees have asked for — club pages, check-ins, photo sharing from past shows, and better filtering.
